Google Search introduce new SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) feature. The Secured channel can be used by entering https://www.google.com on the browser address box instead of http://www.google.com every time you perform a search. Note that as other products from Google as Maps and Images aren't ready yet for secure search, those options will be missing from the page. SSL protocol will encrypt the communication between your PC and Internet, but only at the search results page; once you click on a result link you'll be driven away from a secure connection if the website you visit isn't providing a https feature. The use of SSL may slightly slow down your browsing experience because of extra time necessary for secure the connection. As a final point note that no security feature isn't perfect, so pay attention for where you're browsing all the time. |
