Click Start and Defaults Programs on bottom Right of start panel.
Click on Set your Programs Defaults
Choose your program (Firefox in this case) from left panel, and click Set this Program as Default on bottom. This will associate all files types Firefox can handle, to be associated with it (html, htm etc.)
If you want the program to be the default just for some types of files, click on Choose Defaults for this Program, and check the boxes next to the file types you want to be opened by the software.
